Understand Your Limits

In the United States and other countries that sell guns, it is virtually impossible to tell the difference between an airsoft gun and a real gun from any kind of distance. This means that you risk suspension, expulsion and even jail time or death if you brandish your airsoft gun in a way that makes school administrators or law officers think it is real. Use common sense and carry your gun only in appropriate places.

Wear Eye Protection

Your next step to staying safe is to wear proper eye protection. Plastic pellets might not seem like much if they hit your skin, but they can destroy an eye if allowed to enter or hit the soft tissue. Never play with airsoft guns without proper eyewear and never point or shoot your gun at another player if he isn’t wearing proper eyewear.

Know Your Shooting Speed

Most airsoft guns come out of the case shooting less than 350 feet per second, but some guns can be modified to shoot at a higher rate. If you don’t know the limit of your gun and can’t accommodate that speed with by adjusting your shots, you are putting yourself and others at risk.

Airsoft guns are fragile and they also can raise alarms if you are carrying it lose in your backseat while driving to a game. Always be sure to transport the airsoft gun in a gun case. Not only does this protect your gun, it also protects you in the even that someone spies the gun in your car or in your hand.
