A quick weight loss diet when you need to shed pounds quickly is not the kind of diet that will help you lose the weight permanently unless you use it as a platform for the kind of weight loss diet that encompasses a full range of lifestyle changes. The fastest way to lose five pounds is not the best way to keep it off long-term, but it can be an excellent way to motivate yourself for the months of lifestyle changes ahead.

Fast

Your first step should be to eliminate every food item that is not a liquid or raw fruit or vegetable. A true liquid fast might not be fulfilling enough to help you get through forty-eight hours, so eating raw fruits and vegetables such as apples, oranges and carrots will give you the satisfaction of chewing at least.

Your fast should include plenty of water, tea – preferably green tea, and fruit juices made without sugar or preservatives. Fresh squeezed juices are best. If you have opted to include fruits and vegetables, you can eat those at meal times or as you feel the need.

Sleep

A long stretch of sleep will also help your body to process foods and rid yourself of waste. Drink plenty of fluids and go to bed early enough that you body gets a solid night of sleep and you wake up with your body’s work for the night complete. It often takes a full night for your body to process foods and fluids through the body.

Cleanse Your Colon

It’s very possible that you have pounds of digesting food waiting for removal through your colon. The fruit juices and fiber from the fruit you are eating will help to move these through, but a true supplement-based colon cleansing might very well remove additional plaque and other toxins that have been stored in your colon and large intestine.

Exercise

The fast will deplete much of your natural energy stores, but do as much exercise as possible. Walking is an easy one to do. Walking will help to boost your metabolism and burn more calories. With you consuming so few calories over a forty-eight hour period, this can translate into a few pounds of weight loss.

Easy Step By Step

  • Fast on fruits and liquids for forty-eight hours
  • Sleep a full eight or nine hour at night
  • Cleanse your system using supplements to remove stored waste
  • Exercise to boost your metabolism and burn more calories.

Warnings, Advice, and Suggestions

When you stop your fast, you’ll regain much of the water weight you’ve lost over the following week. This is normal, but if you use your success on the scales as a starting point for more long-term plans you will find great success.

How to Suppress Your Appetite

When you want to lose weight, one of the largest obstacles is your appetite. If you’re used to overeating or eating large meals on a regular basis, it can be a challenge to eat less as your system is always craving more. To help keep those cravings under control, you need to suppress your appetite as much as possible.

Appetite Suppressants

You have the options of many appetite suppressants available in the health food and diet industry, but before you make a selection from these products, you should do a bit of research to discover which appetite suppressant works best. After all, you don’t want to waste your money on an ineffective product. Also be sure to research any potential dangers from the pills as you don’t want to ingest any potentially harmful products either.

Natural Appetite Suppressants

According to a best weight loss guide pulled almost randomly from the store shelve or internet, it is fat better to avoid supplements when possible and take a more holistic approach to weight loss. That’s not to say you can’t suppress your appetite, but you might be able to keep hunger at bay more naturally and avoid products, at least initially.

Drink Water

If you drink water throughout the day, you are helping to keep your stomach full – even if it’s not full of food. Water passes through your system quickly, so to use water as an appetite suppressant, you have to use it at the right time. When you’d normally head to the kitchen for a snack or before you eat a large meal, drink a large glass of water. Your immediate need will be sated and you’ll be distracted by the water often enough to forget why you came to the kitchen in the first place.

Eat Fiber

Fiber is naturally filling, so the more fiber you can work into your diet, the longer you’ll feel full between meals. Fiber from fruits and vegetables can be filling, but the fiber found in whole grains is even more effective for the long-term.

Skip Simple Sugars

Any product with refined sugar will cause your system to spike and crash stimulating your appetite even more. Chips, candy, cookies, cake, white bread and many more snack products will have this effect – they will fill you up only briefly before leaving you feeling hungrier than you were initially. Avoid these and your appetite should remain more consistent, if not be suppressed.

Easy Step By Step

  • Research appetite suppressants to find the safest and most effective
  • Drink more water to feel full more naturally
  • Eat more fiber to stay fuller between meals
  • Skip sugars to avoid the rise and crash of appetite during the day.

Warnings, Advice, and Suggestions

Combining all of the natural appetite suppressants with a supplement will give you even better results, and always be sure to combine your program with exercise.
