You might have heard about glowing skin in health magazines and maybe a few bridal ones. But glowing skin is not unusual – it’s something that should be perfectly natural. It would be, in fact, if we took proper care of our largest organ.
Your skin is your largest organ and most of the time we don’t care for it properly. To properly nourish skin, and to get the glowing countenance you’re seeking, you must nurture your skin from the inside out.
Drink Water
Your first step is to drink plenty of water. Skin excretes waste through the millions of pores that cover your body. Drinking water helps to keep skin clear and hydrated.
Eat a Proper Diet
A healthy diet benefits skin tremendously. The various antioxidants in superfoods and other fruits and vegetables help to destroy toxins and keep the body, skin included, clean and clear. Eating a proper diet gives the skin all of the essential vitamins and nutrients it needs in a day and removing poor food choices from your diet makes way for the healthier options such as fatty acids, antioxidants and selenium to protect and nurture skin.
Wash Regularly
You should wash your skin daily with a mild soap. Your face is especially sensitive and needs a mild cleanser. A gentle exfoliation can help remove rough, dead skin cells and reveal the healthier cells underneath, but exfoliation should be done every few days to avoid damaging the sensitive skin.
Apply Moisture
After washing, apply lotion or cream to your skin to help lock in your skin’s own moisture and provide additional moisture as well. Enriched lotions can also add extra vitamins to make skin healthier, firmer and less prone to the signs of aging. You should have a daily moisturizer and a heavy cream at night to help restore and replenish your skin.
Use Sunscreen
Finally, you should make sunscreen a habit every day. A daily moisturizer that contains sunscreen is your easiest option. The sun can help your skin make vitamin E, but the UVA and UVB rays are the worst proponents of aging for skin. Avoid them using hats and sunscreen as much as possible.
Easy Step By Step
- Drink plenty of water to flush skin regularly
- Eat a healthy diet to provide your skin with all essential nutrients
- Wash and exfoliate regularly
- Apply moisture day and night
- Use sunscreen to protect skin for the future
Warnings, Advice, and Suggestions
Carefully applied cosmetics can make skin appear healthy and glowing as well, but nothing beats a bright complexion based on clear skin and good health. Make that your essential starting point when applying make up.
